12/22/03 - Just updating the site since our show. We'll start archiving setlists and the best pictures and stuff in the Shows section. Oh, and watch out! DBD may be doing a gig several hours out of town (Sonora, to be exact). Also, in case you were wondering, we've pretty much settled on gradually integrating new material based on the great response we're getting from our current stuff (not that there was ever any doubt or anything...), rather than completely starting from scratch.
12/04/03 - Check out the Shows page for updated information about our Capitol Garage show. The fact that we have a gig in less than two weeks sunk in and we've finally begun preparing for the show in earnest. We've never sounded more "on" than these last couple practices. In other news, Josh thought Alexander Hamilton was an Anti-Federalist, when in actuality he was a prime example of a Federalist... sheesh...
11/17/03 - We here at Dead By Dawn Industries, Sacramento have decided to take a few months to regroup. "But why? You guys were just on the verge of global domination!" you might ask. Bass-ically, we've come to realize that the "punk" thing just isn't working out for us anymore. So we're scrapping everything (including the name), and sort of rebuilding the band from the ground up. We don't know what will happen, we just know that it'll be much better.
Don't get me wrong, we still think we're cooler than any other band in town. What better way to prove it than to go out with a bang? Come to Dead By Dawn's Farewell show Friday December 12th at the Capitol Garage. It'll be your last chance to hear us perform some of your favorite hits like "Puppet" and "Diluted". We'll be playing with friends Another Day Off and one or two more bands TBA. We a promise a spectacle... of some sort.
9/14/03 - Things have been happening. Really. As far as the webpage, we've put a bunch of pictures in the Pictures section. Go figure. Now you can tell which member loves his macaroni and which one dresses especially to match Kolton's bathroom. We've been practicing at our hip, hip new rehearsal studio. We pay good money for it, so it's got to be cool, right? A Halloween party gig might be in the works. Various factions within the band think it might be a good idea to change the name. What do you think? In other happenings, the band and some friends went to San Francisco to see Eddie Izzard do his thing at the Orpheum Theatre. Nothing says comedy like a Yemen-born British guy wearing fake tits. He was on jeff that night. Nick contemplated just setting up a tent on the sidewalk on a part of Market Street where a guitar-laden pawn shop, pizza place, smoke shop, and strip club are all just yards away from each other. The tent stakes wouldn't go through the concrete, so the plan was aborted. Aborto!
7/16/03 - The "Botched Sex Change Tour" is on hiatus as the Boardwalk show will not be happening. Another Day Off was told to book the show, and they graciously got us and Lynus on the bill. Then the Boardwalk told them that they, the Boardwalk, had booked the other bands for the show.
We would be depressed about the whole thing, except for some very good recent happenings. We have a new rehearsal place that is in many ways great. Also, just a day after finding out about the Boardwalk mishap, we might have another show in the works. Too soon to say for sure so check back soon.
6/23/03 - The "Total Domination Tour" has been rechristened the "Botched Sex Change Tour" as requested by Nick. Still no other dates confirmed.
6/17/03 - Dead By Dawn begins it's "Total Domination Tour" at the Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA on August 28th. Other dates on the tour are... uh... to be announced.
